I'm Hannah and I am the founder of HA Design. I have recently completed a masters degree in Design Management, being the only student on my course to graduate with a first. Undertaking this degree inspired me to fill a vital gap in the design and marketing industry, leading me to branch out and start my own business. My Story
In 2017 I graduated from Northumbria University with a degree in Animation and Visual Effects and like many recent graduates left going 'well, what do I do now?' I read job descriptions that vaguely related to my degree, stumbling across graphic design and thought 'hmm, why not?' From there I have never looked back.
Soon after, I was lucky enough to find a job that combined my love for graphic design, crafting and TV studios which forced me onto a path I never expected- I ended up in a marketing team for The Craft Store (formerly Hochanda) as their Graphic Designer. As the only designer in the team, I was lucky enough to be able to explore my creativity and develop my skills, whilst working with some incredible marketers who taught me the complex field of marketing.
Working closely with these wonderful team members, I discovered a second passion for marketing and how both design and marketing go hand in hand to help businesses grow at exponential rates when used effectively. I then decided to challenge myself further and undertake a masters degree, which tied in nicely with my role.
Whilst looking into the design and marketing industry further, as part of my research, I discovered how difficult it can be for companies to work with agencies and freelancers, as many are either creative agencies, digital agencies or marketing agencies. There were little to no companies that combined all of these services into one place; meaning if you want both marketing and design, you would have to look at hiring two companies and paying a much higher charge. It was then I decided to say goodbye to my role at Hochanda and start HA Design.
Shortly after its conception, the pandemic hit, shifting my goals and I made it my challenge to help as many people as possible get their businesses online, at affordable prices. Today, we continue to help by combining marketing and design expertise in one place, at affordable prices and our team and skills base is continuing to grow.
